We’re driven by the belief that literacy should be accessible to all. Forward Literacy is a nonprofit organization that exclusively advocates for literacy education reform and results in Wisconsin. We support science-based reading policy, intervention, and accountability.
OUR THREE-PRONGED APPROACH

A ROBUST GRASSROOTS NETWORK
We’re building a statewide network of parents, policy makers, school districts, and other stakeholders who are committed to literacy education reform in their communities and the state.

LEGAL SUPPORT AND EDUCATION
We’re empowering and educating parents about their students’ rights and support school districts in meeting their legal and educational responsibilities. This is to ensure compliance with the new law, 2023 Wisconsin Act 20, and litigate when necessary.

REFORM AND IMPLEMENTATION
We’re working to protect the integrity of 2023 Wisconsin Act 20 from efforts to dilute or eliminate the law’s literacy reforms, which are based in the science of reading and ensure readers reach grade level.
