2023 Wisconsin Act 20 is groundbreaking legislation that bans reading methods not based on the science of reading.
It requires evidence-based science of reading practices, student supports, and individual student reading plans to ensure struggling readers reach grade level.
With the passage of 2023 Wisconsin Act 20, our work has just begun.
Now, the effort shifts to monitoring implementation, supporting parents, and ensuring school district compliance while highlighting success stories along the way. By promoting implementation of literacy reforms in schools and equipping parents with knowledge of their children’s rights, we will ensure every child receives the education that they deserve.
